During today’s BFA Elementary Morning Meeting, our young learners were treated to a special musical performance presented by the High School Band.

We invite you to listen in and enjoy the strains of Smokey Joe’s Cafe, performed by the HS Band, for yourself.

Band Director, Chris Chouiniere shared the special significance of this piece:

“We performed Smokey Joe’s Cafe at last year’s graduation, and brought back for our recruitment gig at the Elementary Morning Meeting which will highlight our music program at BFA.”

On the heels of their exciting performance, the high school band musicians will assume the role of “animal keeper” tomorrow, as they host an Instrumental Petting Zoo with the 4th grade. They are excited to offer these young students an opportunity to explore the instruments up close and experience the unique sound of each one.

It is wonderful to see our student leaders share their love of music with these young admirers – and hopefully recruit future players to join the band!

The resounding applause at the end confirms that Smokey Joe’s Cafe was a hit!
