Students at the Georgia Elementary School have been focusing on the interdependent relationships of plants and animals. They have been comparing the diversity of life in different habitats.
Children have been observing worms, slugs, snakes, and various plants throughout their studies. The goal was to compare similarities and differences among each animal or plant group.
As part of students’ explorations, local Georgia resident Christine Orellana was invited to STEM Lightbulb Lab to share her vast experience, knowledge, and understanding of her pet Ball python “Sylvan”.
Christine was able to capture each student and teachers’ attention and answered a variety of questions throughout the day.
She met with six different classrooms and every group continues to inquire about when Christine and Sylvan might return – their visit was very popular with the students and staff!
GEMS is proud and thankful for such a valued member of our community. Students were able to make connections to further their learning!
