Earlier this week, students, staff and community members at Fletcher participated in a Thai festival to celebrate the lunar new year.
The Songkran Festival is a traditional ceremony in Thailand, that includes a time to visit and pay respects to one’s elders. It pictures the ideas of cleansing and renewal.
FES has had the privilege of hosting Thai scholar Sonrit ”Beau” Sangchan this spring, as part of the Asian Studies Outreach Program at the University of Vermont.
The students and staff have immensely enjoyed the opportunity to explore and experience Thai culture this year.
