Corliss Blakely, a local artist and iPad painter brought her experience, enthusiasm and energy in painting and technology to the 7th and 8th graders at GEMS the week after Thanksgiving. Ms. Blakely gave two art workshops for each group of students, using Procreate and Art Studio apps on the iPad.
Upper middle school students began the school year with a 1:1 iPad program. Each student has an iPad that they have been using in all core subjects and in unified arts. These workshops have helped students to understand the unique opportunities that the iPad offers for painting and drawing.
Here are some of the paintings that the 7th and 8th grade students created:
Ms. Blakely will offer one more series of workshops for the rest of the 7th and 8th grade students after the holidays. Check out more student iPad artwork at the GEMS Middle School Art webpage. You can also view iPad paintings by Corliss Blakely
Thank you Corliss for engaging our students in using digital tools for new artistic possibilities!
