GEMS Students Decorate Tables for Holiday Luncheons

Target 4. Engaged Community Partners – FWSU staff and students will collaborate, innovate, create and conceptualize ideas and learning with local, regional, state, and global partners to make a difference in their community, state, and world.

Action Step – Engage community partners in a focused collaborative inquiry process.

Indicators of Success – Learning outcomes will be expanded to encourage curiosity, communication, and digital citizenry.

GEMS middle school students worked in the Art Room to create special centerpieces for the recent Thanksgiving luncheon in November and Christmas dinner in December.

Students collaborated with kitchen staff from the Abbey Group who decorated tables with the centerpieces and table cloths to make a very festive scene for all the GEMS students, family and visitors. Reaching out to our community is a widely held value at GEMS.

These three 6th graders were the inspiration and effort behind the snowmen project for the finished holiday centerpieces. Student leadership was fully on display.
