GEMS introduced the theme for the year, “Wisdom Begins with Wonder” with an energetic pep rally and to celebrate a wonderful beginning to the year. Friday , August 29th staff and students had an exciting time at the rally in “minute to win it ” activities. The activities included participation by fifth through eighth grade student representatives and staff members.
During the first few months of school both the fifth and sixth grade student will be reading the book “Wonder” by R.J.Palacia. Wonder is the story of a 5th grade boy, new to public school, who overcomes a physical deformity to teach all of the students about acceptance. The book aligns with our theme for the year, and with our recognition ceremonies where learners and leaders are celebrated.
