In February, a group of student athletes, part of the Athletic Leadership Council, from South Burlington High School (dressed in their school colors) came to GEMS and spent some time in kindergarten and first grade classrooms. Annika Nielsen, a GEMS graduate, and now a South Burlington High School student (and athlete) organized this group’s visit.
The kindergarten and first grade teachers said the student athletes were remarkable and did a great job interacting with the children at GEMS. Many of the children were fascinated by these students and loved the time they spent with them. The South Burlington High School students showed strong leadership skills and were wonderful role models for our GEMS students to observe.
