Recently, a group of BFA and GEMS Middle school students attended Champlain College’s event Reaching Out On Technology & Science (ROOTS). The goal of the learning experience was to spark interest in Science & Technology among middle school students with an emphasis on increasing diversity and female representation in these fields.
ROOTS was an all-day event where students were able to select three sessions of small-group workshops taught by faculty from Champlain College’s Divisions of Information Technology & Sciences (ITS) and Communication and Creative Media (CCM).
The Dean of ITS encouraged students to take the opportunity to experience the college campus as the first step to living the dream of attending college to learn about Science and Technology. Throughout the day, students explored learning opportunities across the Champlain College Campus.
