BFA Students Take Closer Look at Georgia Turbine

Target 3Flexible Learning Environments. FWSU will maximize flexible learning environments by redefining the school day, promoting learning experiences that extend beyond the school classroom, and fostering creativity, innovation, and differentiated learning opportunities for all.

Action Step – Provide students w/ access to content, resources, and methods for learning beyond the school day and beyond the school walls.

BFA 10th grade science students had the special opportunity of being among the first to tour the the Georgia Community Wind Farm yesterday. This four-turbine, 10 megawatt wind energy project has been underway for quite sometime and yesterday marked the completion of the first turbine.

Tom Lane arranged the tour for his earth science class. Students were able to observe the scope of the project and learn all of the jobs that were required in order to make the project a reality.

It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience for our students!
