The BFA Fairfax Girls Basketball team recently enjoyed participating in Saint Michael’s College Summer Basketball Camp from 8/2-8/4. The Lady Bullets represented players from Grades 9-12 with a good mix of returning and new incoming players.
One of our goals is to proivide students with opportunites to make global connections Working hard and playing hard helps teens develop relationships with others. That has added benefits when students are developing understanding and intercultural competence as part of the process
One of the teams that BFA played was a club team from Cork, Ireland that has attended the SMC camp for the past several years. Student athletes from Fairfax and Cork greeted each other and then exchanged shirts from their respective teams. Although the BFA girls did not come out on the winning side of this particular contest, they played hard! The students thoroughly enjoyed this rare opportunity to play an international team.
