On January 26 and 27, the Northwest District One Music Festival was held at BFA St. Albans. Sponsored annually by the Vermont Music Educators Association, the music festival features performances by the top high school student musicians in Northwestern Vermont in chorus, wind ensemble, and concert band. Students audition in early December for acceptance in the ensembles. Not only does the festival serve as an amazing showcase of musical talent, but it is also a chance for high school students to forge new relationships with their musical peers and perform at an advanced level.

BFA Fairfax was honored to have multiple students selected to perform in the festival concert on the night of Saturday, January 27. Selected to perform in the District Chorus were Quentin Stoneburner, Moses Delane, Caitlin Allan, Calleen Ferris, and Alexandre Hamel. Selected to perform in the District Wind Ensemble were Mary Fitzgerald, Baylee Laforce, and Malachi Witt.
These talented student musicians were the largest representation from BFA Fairfax in many years, and are truly representative of the renewed focus and pride in our music department. Congratulations to all!
