Indicator of Success – Teachers embrace the role of coach, facilitator and co-learner in a student-centered learning environment.
This past Wednesday, students and staff at BFA participated in the engaging and powerful Sweethearts and Heroes anti-bullying program. The content of the program was focused on:
- Empowering all students with an action plan
- Enhancing the school climate to stop bullying
- Redefining bullying, bystanders, and victims of bullying
- Providing choices for kids
Sweethearts and Heroes addresses one of the biggest problems confronting schools – bullying behaviors. This presentation gives students an important message about the awareness of bullying, and most importantly, an action plan for when bullying happens.
The program provided students with the ABC’s of combating bullying: A- Take the student that is being bullied AWAY, B- Be a BUDDY to a student that is being bullied, and C- CONFRONT the situation.
We appreciate the PTSA for their generous funding of this important learning opportunity for our school. We encourage all schools to consider bringing Sweetheart and Heroes to your community.
