We are extremely proud to announce that BFA Fairfax Senior Wyeth Haddock has been selected as one of this year’s NIAAA and VSADA scholarship winners.
Each year the Vermont State Athletic Directors Association (VSADA), in coordination with the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), awards ten scholarships to five male and five female senior student-athletes in Vermont. These scholarships “recognize the distinguished scholastic, leadership and sportsmanship attributes of high school student-athletes, and the importance of high school athletics in each student’s life” (NIAAA, 2021).
In addition to Wyeth’s academic accolades and athletic talents, as well as his commitment to performing arts, the scholarship committee took note of his extraordinary commitment to student leadership organizations and service initiatives.

As part of the application process, Wyeth was required to submit an essay on the impact of high school athletics on his life. In his essay he shared:
“The life-lessons that high school extracurriculars have taught me, whether they be interpersonal or individual, will stick with me forever. Beyond traditional themes of teamwork and perseverance–which have been employed on the court and in the classroom–I’ve learned a lot about community.”

BFA Fairfax is extremely proud of Wyeth, and we congratulate him on this well-deserved award and honor. More importantly, we are excited to see the numerous successes he will undoubtedly experience in the future. Congratulations!
